Just got my lab results. Cholesterol is nicely wnl. Pre-diab status is unchanged. One pt over normal range. I would like Triglycerides to be lower but they are vastly improved and wnl.
What now?
~Try again to go up to full Budwig protocol which would mean adding calories in
the form of a 3rd Budwig mixture?
~Keep doing what I'm doing with no change?
~Reduce fruit intake?
~Add Chromium polynicotinate?
It's hard to believe after having made such a radical change in my diet that the HGB-A1c hasn't budged even a point. Must not rule out possibility of lab reporting error.
More research re relationship between insulin resistance and pre diabetes status shows I am doing all the right things already. Also, I learned that Hgb A1c shows a hx of glucose attached to hbg, not just a reading of the moment the blood was drawn. Perhaps 3 months simply is not long enough, though I read that for more labile diabetics, it is done quarterly, so it seems unlikely that it has not been long enough.
In any case, having done that much research and having checked with determination board, I've decided to stay the course with the Budwig Protocol as I have been doing it. I sent a request to Dr. S. for another set of labs, incl. Hgb, in 3 mo. Awaiting reply.
By the new measure, this morning I am down 23 lbs.
